What is Leapforce?
Leapforce is a US based company that hires independent agents to conducts evaluation services for search engine providers such as Google and Yahoo. The information is used to refine algorithms that generate search results.
Positions offered by Leapforce
Search Engine Evaluator – provide feedback about search engine results. They determine how relevant and useful a webpage is by comparing it to predefined queries.
Search Quality Judge – review web related search results and provide quality evaluations on a on a number of tasks. Applicants must be detail oriented and have a good understanding of a broad range of research tools.
Map Quality Analyst – help improve and evaluate Internet based mapping data. Must have good analytical research skills. Analyze and annotate text and graphical routing instructions and provide suggestions for improving routes where applicable.
What are the skills and equipment required to be a Leapforce agent?
- High speed Internet access is required via Cable Modem or DSL.
- A personal computer that has Mozilla Firefox free web browser version 17.0 or later installed.
- Updated anti-virus and anti-spyware software.
- Excellent web research skills along with analytical abilities.
- Excellent comprehension and written communication skills.
- Some assignments require agents to be fluent in languages other than English. To qualify for these assignments agents are required to pass a language assessment exam.
Leapforce provides its agents with dependable work and flexible work hours. Agents have the flexibility to decide when they work and the number of hours they put in.
To remain an active agent you must complete a minimum of 200 evaluation tasks every 30 days.
How much does Leapforce pay?
Leapforce pays it’s independent agents approximately $13.50 per hour. The Map Quality Analyst position pays $18.50 per hour. Payment is sent once a month via check. Checks are delivered via regular mail.
You are responsible for tracking your own work time. Work time is entered in your invoice generator on your rater page.
You submit an invoice once a month on the first day of each month. You are paid by check approximately 25 days later.
How do your go about applying to work for Leapforce?
Complete the online application on the home page of the Leapforce website. You must attach a resume to the application. If you are accepted you will be required to complete the qualification exam.
You have only one opportunity to write the exam and you must pass in order to go on to the practical exam. If you fail one or both parts of the exam you will not be allowed to take it again.
The qualification exam consists of multiple choice questions about the guidelines. The practical exam consists of simulations similar to the ones you would do if you were working in this position.
This exam is part of your training and will give you an opportunity to see if this field is a good fit for you.
Leapforce provides simulations that you can do to practice and get feedback before you start the exam.
If you are accepted as an agent you will be evaluated on both speed and quality of your ratings.
For the first three weeks the standards are lower to give you an opportunity to get familiar with the work. You’ll want to make sure your work is up to standard within the trial period.
Although Leapforce is a reliable company that can provide a steady income and flexible work hours, this type of work is not for everyone which is reflected in their high turnover rate.
This is most likely to do with the high performance standards. The job requires a precise level of accuracy and the ability to pay attention to details. There is little room for error and one must continually produce quality work or they will be terminated.
