Blogging is a great past time for a vast variety of people. We blog about our hobbies of fishing or crafting, local charity groups and organisations, even local business owners form part of the 100,000,000 blogs to be found across the web.

So how is it that only a fraction of the blogs actually make any money?

John Chow claims to make an average of $40,000 a month from a single blog, so it’s only fitting that we at WFHW review the aptly named “blogging with John Chow” course.

Blogging With John Chow Program Overview was launched in December 2012. The goal of the Blogging with John Chow course (which is delivered on a membership site) is to take you from a new WordPress blog set up to being able to make money from your blogging efforts.

The course itself is very extensive with modules covering various aspects of blogging.

John Chow comes with full credentials having been featured in may publications such as:  The Vancouver Sun, the Globe and Mail, the New York Times and Entrepreneur Magazine to name a few.

He also has also written the Amazon best seller Roadmap of a Dot Com Mogul. There’s mention of a Peng Joon, in the credits too.

What’s Included With Blogging With John Chow?

The membership site has 9 modules each covering a specific area of your weblog. The module titles listed below have separate sections that get quite detailed as to how and why John used these methods.

  • What to write about
  • Launching your blog
  • Branding yourself online
  • Content creation
  • List building
  • Monetizing
  • Using Feeds
  • Optimizing for Google
  • Monitoring what’s happening

Text is the only way that the training is delivered, so reading the articles is essential if you are to progress with Blogging with John Chow.

The modules all have extra sections that break down the tasks. The training is usually supported with a video summarizing the main section or module delivered by John Chow himself.

Once you have a good understanding of the module content there’s a full 30 day action plan that John has laid out for you.

Blogging With John Chow Pricing

The core program has price tag of $37.00 There are upsells that offer done for you blogs that will cost you a further $47.00 per month.

Then you’ll get a try for $1 option if you reject the offer. The 2nd upsell is about outsourcing and sells at $97. Be aware of these upsells if you are banking on only spending the $37 initially stated for the program.

The people that will get the most from this course are those who are fairly new to blogging. It’s a good course and a stable foundation.

Intermediate bloggers would do well to read up on what John Chow has to say about blogging too. He does have some very good ideas that are not widely spoken about on the web!

Are There Any Blogging With John Chow Complaints?

I don’t think that I’ve seen a single complaint about the blogging with John Chow course; except for – the text can get a bit much, especially if you are someone who likes to learn with video or in a forum environment.

My Own Thoughts On Blogging With John Chow

Blogging with John Chow stands out as a comprehensive “learn how-to blog” product.

John has certainly over-delivered on the content of the core product, and I personally liked trawling through the many pages of the membership site, even though it was a lot of reading to do.

Blogging With John Chow Review Summary

Blogging with John Chow is an online membership site that delivers modular training lessons on the many aspects of setting up a WordPress blog and making money from it.

It’s a well laid out course with lots of valuable content.  Good value for money when compared with other similar products on the market, even though you can easily set up your own cash-earning blog for free if you want to.

An important point to bear in mind with the John Chow course is the training material is all text posts so you will need to enjoy learning through reading which will not suit everyone.

  • Good for beginners
  • Packed full of content
  • Many blogging subjects covered
  • Something for Intermediate bloggers too
  • Core product offers good value for money

  • Too much to read – video lessons would be great
  • No community feel
  • Easy to feel overwhelmed
